All About Twins!

about twins blogs twins blog

So, there's something a little fascinating about Twins isn't there?  I'm sure most people secretly wish that they had a Twin (I know I do!)  A built in best friend to share things with (and squabble with too no doubt!)

We were over the moon recently to have our Twins products selected to be featured on a Website 'All About Twins' - they just loved our Handmade Alpaca Twin Bunnies, and our gorgeous Personalised Twins Frames!  They are also going to be doing a giveaway on their Facebook Page of one of our Twin Alpaca Kits - so you can learn to crochet, and make 2 adorable bunnies for any Twins you know (or maybe one for a child in the family, and one for yourself if you don't!)

We asked them to tell us a bit about Twins and here is what they said!

"There are several different types of twins. The most common ones are fraternal twins and identical twins.

Fraternal twins develop from two different eggs; each are fertilized by separate sperm cells. They share approximately 50 percent of their genes.

Identical twins are the result of a single egg, fertilized by a single sperm cell. After fertilization the egg splits, resulting in two individuals that share almost the same genetic material. Identical twins always of the same sex, except in a few extremely rare cases, where they’ve been born male and female."

About-twins.com is a website targeted to families with twins. They write about everything pertaining to twins – twin pregnancy, prematurity, nursing, labor, parenting and discounts for twin families.  Have a look at their site - it's full of help and advice for parents of Twins!

Meanwhile if you need a Twins Gift - check out our gorgeous unique gifts - they are our own design - so you won't find them anywhere else!

Here's to seeing double!  We hope you've enjoyed our Twins Blog! Until next time my woolly friends!

Love Lisa (Mrs Wee Woolly Wonderfuls!) and the bunnies xx
